A Researcher at KoU Has Published Two Papers in Two International Journals

A researcher at KoU has published two papers in two international journals about a new finding called ISIS syndrome. 

Darya Rostam Ahmed, who graduated from the Department of Clinical Psychology Faculty of Science and Health(FSCH) and currently works as an assistant at the Presidency of Koya University, is an active researcher working on a new psychological concept called ISIS Syndrome.

A Delegation from Pinnacle Teaching Solutions Visit Koya University

The Pinnacle Teaching Solutions country director for Iraq, Mr. Tim Knoespel, accompanied by Ms. Jessica A. Shier, visited Koya University on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The delegation met with Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana and a number of university community members including Director of Public Relations Dr. Hawkar Bapeer Bakir, Head of the Department of English Education (DENL) Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Mohammad, Head of the Department of English Language (DENG) Mr. Hana Mohammed Smail, and Director of Media and Communication Mr. Muhammed Karim Saedgul.

Three Koya University Undergrad Students Participate in a Summer Course in Germany

Sharya Abdulqader, Muhamad T. Latif, and Ali D. Hassan, students in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, visited Germany for a 12-day long summer course.

 The course, "Application of Additive Manufacturing in Engineering", is administered by Freiberg University of Mining and Technology. In addition, KoU students were funded by DAAD, and the course was scheduled between the 8th to 19th of August, 2022. Also, the summer course was designed to introduce students to labs and hubs of car designing and manufacturing, in addition to participating in some lectures.

Koya University Strategic Plan Drafting Committee Held its First Meeting

Headed by University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana, the University Koya Strategic Plan Drafting Higher Committee convened its first meeting at the University Council conference room on July19, 2022.  Dr. Mohammed Zangana opened the meeting by discussing the importance of preparing the strategic plan for universities in general and for Koya University in particular. He stressed the need for drafting a plan that contains strategic goals that differ from those of other universities.

KOU Participated the KIPA-KOICA Training Course and Workshop on Quality Management

Dr. Salah I. Yahya, a Professor at the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Koya University, participated the one week training course and workshop on Quality Management that held and organized by the Kurdistan Institute for Public Administration (KIPA), Ministry of Planning in cooperation with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The event was held at the KIPA building, Erbil, from 18th July - 21st July 2022, 8hrs a day.

On Monday, July 4, 2022, a high-level five-member delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Federal Government led by Dr. Haider Hassan Mashali, Director of Department of Education and Planning, visited Koya University. After welcoming the guest delegation by the President Koya University, Dr. Mohammed Hasib, the deldation held a meeting with the University Council. At the beginning,Dr. Mohammad Haseeb welcomed the guests and gave a speech on the history, structure, position and importance of Koya University.

FSCH at KOU Held a Training Course on "Electrical Hazard and Protection Methods”

Electricity is an essential part and a basic requirements of modern life. Electricity can be used for lighting, heating, cooling, operating appliances, computers, electronics, machinery, public transportation systems…. etcetera. With that to be mentioned is the Electrical Hazard and Protection methods, which otherwise can be fatal, for instance electrical shock and fire. Electrical shock occurs when the body becomes part of the electric circuit, however, the pathway through the body, the length of time of the exposure, the amount of current, and whether the skin is wet or dry can determine the severity and effects of an electrical shock.

FSCH at KOU Held a Workshop on “Mathematical Application in Real Life”

When all aspects of mathematics are encouraged, such as mathematical problems that need thought, connection making, and even creativity, rather than procedure execution alone (pure mathematics), many more people contribute, engage, and feel valued. Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Analysis, and dynamical System are some examples that can be mentioned as an applied mathematics, which can solve those problems which are arise from the real life or other science including engineering, physics, biology, …, etc.
