Yet another high Impact Publication by Koya University's researcher

Biosynthesis of Crocacin Involves an Unusual Hydrolytic Release Domain Showing Similarity to Condensation Domains Chemistry & Biology, Volume 21, Issue 7, 17 July 2014, Pages 855–865

Dr. Shwan Rachid, Dean of the faculty of science and health and senior lecturer/researcher at Koya University with a group of researchers at Saarland University (Germany) has published a new paper on Crocacin, a new anti-cancer and anti-fungal compound.

In this paper the authors shed light on the last biosynthetic step and uncommon hydrolytic compound release from the assembly bio-machinery enzymes. The Chemistry & Biology Journal is ranked with 6.5 impact factor.

The faculty of Science and Health (FSCH) at Koya University is an excellent place to acquire education. It is the centre of excellence for advanced education and research in the fields of health and the basic or applied sciences. It comprised of three schools: the school of medicine, the school of science which includes five scientific departments and the school of health including the departments of Clinical psychology, and Medical microbiology.
