Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, had a meeting with the Indian consul general in the Kurdistan Region.

During an official visit on Thursday, April 18, 2024, the President of Koya University met with Mr. Madan Gopal, the Consulate General of India in the Kurdistan Region.

The President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, visited the Consulate General of India in Erbil as part of the university's efforts to fortify international relations in light of the pillar (internationalization and global standing) of the Strategic Plan of Koya University 2023–2027 and in anticipation of the Third International Oil Conference, and was welcomed by the Consulate General of India in the Kurdistan Region Mr. Madan Gopal.

Throughout the meeting, Mr. Koya University's President gave an overview on the University's current structure as well as its history and standing both locally and internationally.

The five-year strategic plan that Koya University has developed, as Koya University President pointed out, corresponds to the university's constitution for the ensuing five years.

The Koya University President extended an invitation to attend the 3rd International Oil Conference: Waste Treatment in the Oil and Gas Industry, which will take place on April 28–30, 2024, and spoke about its significance and the most recent preparations during the meeting.

For his part, Mr. Madan Gopal, the consul general of India in the Kurdistan Region, noted the importance and standing of Koya University locally as well as internationally while expressing his delight over the visit of the university's president.

The Indian consul general in the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Madan Gopal, commended the president and faculty of Koya University for their work in creating the institution's five-year strategic plan and emphasized that creating a strategic plan is a crucial undertaking for any organization. He offered to coordinate and work toward putting Koya University's strategic plan into action, with a focus on the Green University pillar, within the framework of a memorandum of an understanding.

During the meeting, Mr. Madan Gopal, the Indian consul general in the Kurdistan Region, was provided with a copy of Koya University's 2023–2027 strategic plan by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, president of the university.

Dr. Pakhshan Fahmi Farho, the director of Public Relations Directorate at Koya University, attended the meeting in the meanwhile.

On April 28, 29, and 30, Koya University will host the third International Oil and Gas Conference.
