KOU Participated the Meeting of the Higher Committee of Online Learning in Kurdistan Region

Yahya; MHE; KOU; Online LearningToday, 7th April 2020 at 7:00 pm, the Higher Committee-MHE of the Online Learing in Kurdistan Region had an important meeting about the implementation of the online learning in Kurdistan Universities and institutes. The committee members presented the e-infrastructures of their universities and their readiness to the online learning.

A Professor from KOU with a Research Group from KUT and DTU Published a Research Paper in the AEU

AEUA Group of researchers from Koya University (KOU),  Kermanshah University of Technology (KUT) and the Duy Tan University (DTU) published a research paper entitled “Design and Fabrication of a High-performance Microstrip Multiplexer Using Computational Intelligence for Multi-band RF Wireless Communications Systems" in the AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications. The paper Presents a novel high-performance microstrip diplexer to operate at 0.78 GHz and 1.85 GHz for GSM applications. Professor Salah I. Yahya is among the researchers, from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University. AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications is indexed by Clarivate Analytics with IF=2.853 and indexed by SCOPUS with level Q2.

 

KOU had a Speech in an International Universities Discussion

Al-Qaisi, the assistant professor at the department of architectural engineering and the director of the Heritage Conservation Research Program (HCRP) at Koya University, has participated on 30 March 2020 as a speaker in the Online International Discussoin on ((Re) Contextualizing Contested Heritage: Building Capacity & Designing Participatory Approaches to Preserve Cultural Heritage by the Youth) which is an activity of the Research England Funding to Develop Participatory Approaches to Preserve Contested Heritage by Youth.

KOU Uses Google Hangouts Meet to Support the e-Learning

Google Hangouts Meet,; Koya UniversityDue to the coronavirus pandamic, most of the Universities in the world have been closed and started the online teaching/learning process. Since 2013, KOU has subscribed to Google Apps. for Education (G-Suit), and since that time the course mangament system and the Quality Assurance are implemented using G-Suit applications. Recently, and to achive the e-laearning in a standard and effiecient way, KOU uses Moodle and Google Hangouts Meets as the official applications of KOU for the e-Learning.

KOU Council and Head of Departments had an Online Video Conference on e-Learning at the University

KOU Council; Koya UniversityToday, Sunday 29/03/2020, the Koya University Council, Head of Departments, Director of Quality Assurance and the Director of IT (35 staff) had an online video conference (meeting) for about 2 hrs (11:00 am - 01:00 pm). The video conference was about the e-learning at KOU and the e-infrastructure that available for the academics and students. The Meeting was directed by Dr. Wali Hamad, the president of KOU.

A KOU Research Paper Deposited to IEEE Xplore Digital Library

Yahya from the Department of Software EngineeringFaculty of Engineering at Koya University  in the 2019 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC) that held on 10-13 December 2019, has been deposited to the IEEE Xplore . The paper entitled "A Novel Harmonic Attenuator Quad-Channel Microstrip Diplexer for Multi-Service Communication Systems," 

 

A KOU Professor Publishing a Research Article with Springer

Salah I. Yahya, Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal ProcessingProfessor Salah I. Yahya from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University with a research group from Iran, Vietnam and Malaysia published a research article entitled “Design of a low-loss microstrip diplexer with a compact size based on coupled meandrous open-loop resonators” in the Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing Journal. The paper presents design and fabrication of a novel microstrip diplexer. It has two quite close channels at 1.67 GHz and 1.88 GHz make it suitable for FDD schemes and GSM applications.

A Researcher from KOU Published a Research Paper in the Journal of Materials Research and Technology

imr&t, Koya UniversityDr. Fahmi F. Mohammadsharif at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Health, Koya University Published a new resaerch articlle entitled "A new insight into the temperature induced molecular aggregations in tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) metals." The research article has been published in the Journal of Materials Research and Technology which indexed by Clarivate Analytics with IF=3.327 and SCOPUS with Level Q1. The article authors are: Fahmi F. MuhammadsharifSuhairul Hashim, Khaulah Sulaiman, G. Baldacchini.

The results achived by this reseach article opened a new route of fabricating highly emissive thin films of amorphous nanostructure, which are specifically important for organic light emitting diode (OLED) based displays.
