The director of Koya University's health and safety Directorate, Dr. Rebwar Tahir Aziz, received the honorary shield from Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, the Koya University President, in recognition of his efforts and notable achievements during the time he served.
On Monday, November 13, 2023, Dr. Rebwar Tahir Aziz, the former director of Koya University's Health and Safety Directorate, received an honorary shield from the university's council members and President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, for his previous work, from which he is currently retired.
During the ceremony, the Koya University President emphasized the significance of the Health and Safety Directorate in his speech and to the best of his abilities, Dr. Rebwar Tahir has managed this responsibility.
Koya University President continued to state that Dr. Rebwar was a dedicated and compassionate person who proved an actual sense of commitment in the course of carrying out his duty.
Dr. Rebwar Tahir Aziz, who was appointed director of Koya University's Health and Safety Directorate in 2011, resigned the position in November-2023 due to retirement.

KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.
KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).
Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
