The Department of Education and Psychology at the Faculty of Education, Koya University, organized a workshop titled "A Healthy Individual and a Harmonious Society."

On Tuesday, 5 Sarmawezi 2724 in the Kurdish calendar, corresponding to November 26, 2024, the workshop was held in the university's presidency hall with the attendance of Dr. Safin Jalal, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Koya University, along with faculty members and students.

The workshop began with the national anthem "Ey Reqib," followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs of Kurdistan.

A video presentation on the impact of depression on the human nervous system was then shown.

Subsequently, the main panel of the workshop, chaired by Dr. Dalia Hashim, commenced. The following topics were presented:

• "Inner Peace is Not Far Away," presented by Dr. Khalid Ismail Ibrahim.
• "Mental Health in Times of Crisis," presented by Dr. Juwan Bahaa Al-Din Ali.
• "Techniques for Managing Life's Pressures," presented by Dr. Haja Taha Mohammed.
• "Simple Steps for Mental Well-Being," presented by Ms. Bakhan Bakhtiar.

Questions and comments from participants enriched the discussions and dialogues. At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates of participation were distributed to the presenters and attendees.

KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.

KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).

Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
