In another initiative by Koya University and within the framework of the university's Strategic Plan (2023-2027) and its pillars: STUDENT SUCCESS AND EMPLOYABILITY, COMMUNITY OUTREACH, and GREEN UNIVERSITY,, and in alignment with the United Nations' fourth, eighth, ninth, and seventeenth Sustainable Development Goals, and under the slogan "A Platform for Starting Independent Business for Koya University Students," the university announces the "My First Business" project.
The project is an entrepreneurship training program that provides a number of kiosks designated for implementing entrepreneurial ideas through a specific proposal and according to terms and guidelines that are submitted to the project's specialized committee. These kiosks are provided free of charge to Koya University students for the duration of one academic year, and Koya University students in the 2025-2026 academic year can benefit from them.
Objectives of the "My First Business" Project:
- Empowering students with real entrepreneurial experience
- Supporting the development of original and innovative entrepreneurial ideas
- Strengthening students' capabilities in establishment, leadership, and financial competence
- Creating a vibrant entrepreneurial environment on campus run by students
- Encouraging sustainable and service-oriented business and work
Terms and Guidelines:
- The applicant must be a Koya University student and continuing their studies in the 2025-2026 academic year
- Each student team must not exceed 5 students
- The applicant must complete the project-specific form
- The proposed business must be compatible with the Koya University campus environment
- The applicant is required to submit a comprehensive and complete proposal on the proposed business, which must include these points:
- Originality and innovation in the idea
- Feasibility of implementation and clarity
- Team organization and cooperation
Successful idea owners will sign an agreement with our university's legal administration that includes the following points:
- The student must not neglect the academic side of their studies, and the business must not become a reason for declining academic performance
- The student must not involve any external party, openly or secretly, as a partner in the business, because these kiosks are provided free of charge and only the student benefits from them
- A team of trainers will supervise the program, and students must commit to attending these training sessions and implementing the trainers' guidelines
- In case of violations and failure to comply with the terms and guidelines, the university will reclaim the kiosk from the student
