Prof. Dr. Kamaran Mohammed Jalal, a faculty member of the Department of History at Koya University’s Faculty of Education, participated in the 6th International Scientific Conference hosted by Garmian University. The conference was titled "The Permanent Heritage of the Garmian Region: Archaeology, Identity, and Historical Value."

The conference commenced on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at "Sherwana" Hall in Kalar. It was organized in collaboration with the "Karimi Alaka" Foundation, the Heritage Department of the University of Bologna (Italy), and the Italian MISAK Organization. The event featured 48 researchers presenting 26 papers from 13 local and international universities.

Prof. Dr. Kamaran Mohammed Jalal contributed a joint research paper with Dr. Hazha Abduljabar from the University of Sulaimani, titled: "The Status of Christians in (Beth Garmai) and Their Churches During the Sasanian Era (224-651 AD)." The study explored the historical and social conditions of Christian communities in the Garmian region during the Sasanian period.
