As part of ongoing initiatives to provide an enriched living and learning environment for dormitory students, Koya University has officially completed the comprehensive modernization and renovation of the futsal court at the male student dormitories, inaugurated by the University President.

Inauguration and Infrastructure Standards

On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, alongside members of the University Council and designated officials, presided over the official opening ceremony. The court was renovated according to contemporary athletic criteria and standardized sports facility guidelines, executed under the direct technical supervision of engineers from the university’s Directorate of Engineering and Projects.

Presidential Address and Strategic Vision

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana highlighted the project's strategic significance, stating:

"Delivering an optimal environment and quality amenities for our students—particularly within university dormitories—is integral to the objectives of the Koya University Strategic Plan. Alongside academic rigor, our goal is to foster a vibrant, balanced, and healthy campus life. Sports and recreational physical activities play a pivotal role in youth development and physical well-being. This project stands as a concrete step within our ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life and residential campus services."

The University President also commended the engineering and technical teams for their precision and timely delivery in modernizing the facility.

This project directly aligns with the university's Five-Year Strategic Plan (2023–2027), which positions the advancement of sports infrastructure and extracurricular student engagement as foundational pillars for empowering youth and fostering overall student well-being under the Koya University Strategic Plan.
