Sharya Abdulqader, Muhamad T. Latif, and Ali D. Hassan, students in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, visited Germany for a 12-day long summer course.
The course, "Application of Additive Manufacturing in Engineering", is administered by Freiberg University of Mining and Technology. In addition, KoU students were funded by DAAD, and the course was scheduled between the 8th to 19th of August, 2022. Also, the summer course was designed to introduce students to labs and hubs of car designing and manufacturing, in addition to participating in some lectures.
Muhamad Tahsin, told KoU Media Directorate that the course was an extensive course. He also said that in addition to attending lectures and labs, they attended many cultural events.
DAAD is the largest exchange program in the world, each year they fund many academic projects and summers courses. For this year, DAAD funded the summer course of 13 students from seven universities in the Kurdistan Region, three of which were KoU students.

KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+. KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021). Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
