Koya University has launched a Bologna Process training course.
On October 16, 2022, KOU organized a Bologna Process teacher course which was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq Zangana, University president, the University Council, and 77 teachers.
The course was opened with Dr.. Mohammed's speech in which he stressed on the importance of implementing the Bologna Process and the importance of training.
Afterwards, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Lashkary, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, presented a seminar entitled "The Importance of Implementing the Bologna Protocol". In his speech, Asst. Prof. D. Haidar Lashkry Khidr stated that the main goal of Bologna is to improve the quality of the curriculum and at the same time Bologna will provide more mobility, in addition to the fact that the students are becoming the center of the education system.
Afterwards, Dr. Bnar Jawdat Ahmed, Director of Pedagogy Center of Koya University presented a seminar
This course will last for four days and will be held in the seminar hall of the Faculty of Engineering of Koya University.
The Bologna Process is an intergovernmental cooperation of 48 European countries in the field of higher education. It guides the collective effort of public authorities, universities, teachers, and students, together with stakeholder associations, employers, quality assurance agencies, international organisations, and institutions, including the European Commission, on how to improve the internationalization of higher education.
The main focus is:

the introduction of the three cycle system (bachelor/master/doctorate)

strengthened quality assurance and

easier recognition of qualifications and periods of study
The Kurdistan-Iraq Universities, generally, and Koya University, specifically, started to implement the Bologna-like Process at their 3 cycles of higher Education, i.e., Bachelor program, Master program and Doctoral program.
This website is the Course management System using Bologna Process at Koya University. At the same time, it gives the catalog to all Universities in Kurdistan Region to start Bologna process and structuring their study program, accordingly.

Koya University (KOU) is located in the city of Koya (Koy Sanjaq) which is 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. It is on the foothills of beautiful high mountain. Its campus has been carefully laid out to embrace the beautiful mountainous nature. . KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+. KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021). Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
