A team from Koya University actively participated in a course on curriculum design and scientific research of labor market needs.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Rahel Khalid Ibrahim, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul-Basit Kamil Faiq, Dr. Saman Tahir Faraj, M. Hana Ali Mahmoud, and Rebaz Abdulaziz Qadir were part of a Koya University team that attended a training session on scientific study of labor market needs and curriculum design on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
A total of (70) university professors from all of the public universities in the Kurdistan Region attended the course, which was held by IREX with the help of consultants and general directors from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In his remarks at the start of the course, Dr. Amanj Abdullah Saeed, advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, indicated that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has carried out the program development project and said:
"In order to achieve this, we must conduct a scientific study of the demands of the labor market, the public, and private sectors, and in light of the information and the needs of the labor market, we must rethink the educational process' results. For graduates to compete more effectively for jobs, it should be in accordance with labor market demands and the pace of economic growth."
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will help you strengthen your skills in building curricula in light of changes in the labor market, Dr. Amanj said to the participants, adding that "you are leading this crucial process and our work will be lengthy."
To lead the project and program design for the labor market study, 70 university professors from all of the public universities in the Kurdistan Region will participate in this course and receive training from international specialists.
