The Department of History, Faculty of Education, Koya University organized its second international workshop entitled “Crisis of Humanity Sciences in Kurdistan”.
On Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the presence of the President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, Vice president for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rostam Salam Aziz, Vice president for post graduate affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Lashkari, Vice president for Student Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Qaraman Nadir, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Safin Jalal and participation of a significant number of external guests, teachers and students of the Department of History of faculty of education at Koya University held its second international workshop entitled "Crisis of Humanity Sciences in Kurdistan" in the Presidency Hall of Koya University.
The national anthem "Ay Raqeeb" and a standing ovation to honor the spirits of the Kurdish martyrs began the workshop.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshmand Ali, head of the History Department, made the workshop's opening address.
Four different presentations were presented in the workshop's first panel, which was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mallazadeh. Asst. Lect. Daban Qasim served as the panel's interpreter for other foreign guests, and the panel’s outline was as follows:
Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmidinger from the University of Vienna in Austria gave a presentation titled "Humanities between Europe and Kurdistan."
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Hussein Siddiq from Raperin University in the Kurdistan Region shared his lecture on "Philosophical Consultation and its Role in Improving Life."
"Why Don't the Humanities Die?" is an inquiry. Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Lashkari from Koya University imposed the presentation.
The presentation on "Social Specialties in Universities in the Unscientific, Unmotivated Environment of the Kurdistan Region" was presented by Mr. Hemn Aziz Khader from Cincinnati University, USA.
The last section of the first panel included participant questions and comments about the subject matter, which expanded the research and scientific exchanges between the researchers and the participants.
The following talks made up the second panel of the workshop, which was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiwa Hamid Sharif:
Prof. Dr. Saman Hussein Ahmad from Sulaimani University presented the study "Problems of Historiography in Kurdistan Regional Universities."
The research on "The Importance of History for Society from the Perspective of Kurdish Intellectuals, Massoud Mohammed for Example" was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Fathullah Tayeb from Koya University.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawzad Jamal Hamafraj, a member of the Kurdistan Board for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research, presented the article "Critical Thinking in Scientific Development".
Following the conclusion of the second panel, a question-and-answer session for the attendees was held, and academic discussions on the subjects between the researchers and attendees proceeded.
