KoU Delegation met with the Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs and many other senior officials of the MOHESR

 A six-day visit to the provinces of Baghdad, Najaf, and Basra is being made by a Koya University delegation under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq.

On the second day of their visit, the Koya University delegation met with Prof. Dr. Haidar Abdul-Zahad, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Affairs of Iraq, with the Director of the Envoys Directorate  Prof.Dr.Hazim Baqir Tahir.

The Koya University delegation was welcomed during the meeting by Prof. Dr. Haidar Abdul-Zahad, the deputy minister of higher education for scientific affairs. He also noted that the visit would strengthen the academic and scientific ties between the universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and advance the fields of science and information.

The Koya University strategic plan presented to the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, who also said that this was one of the most significant tasks carried out by institutions. He commended Koya University for taking the leap.

The president of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, addressed about the university's strategic plan and laid out its fundamental principles, goals, and objectives.

Koya University's President emphasized the value of coordination between Iraqi and Kurdish universities and stated that Koya University embraces all agreements and Memorandum of understandings that advance higher education and scientific research status.

The Koya University’s Faculty of Medicine issue was another important subject discussed during the discussion with the deputy of the Ministry of Higher Education. In this regard, the Koya University president provided all the prerequisites for the medical faculty's accreditation. It has been put into effect by the committee of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, for his part, expressed his support for the actions taken by Koya University and pledged to quickly find a way forward.

It is noteworthy that the Koya University delegation includes the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhin Tahir Saber, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Dawan Jamal Hawezi, Director General of Research and Development Centers Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, Dr. Ahmed Mazn and Media Director Asst. Lect. Mohammed Karim Saedgul.
