The Council of Koya University, chaired by the President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sideeq held its twelfth meeting for the first time at the Faculty of Medicine at Koya University.
The Council of Koya University met on Thursday, March 7, 2024, chaired by the President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sideeq, following the official recognition of the Faculty by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Federal Government of Iraq.
A ceremony was attended by the president of Koya University, council members, faculty members, and medical students to celebrate the official recognition of the medical college by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the federal government of Baghdad. The university president delivered several speeches during the ceremony, expressing his happiness at the occasion and emphasizing that this achievement is a collective one. He also praised the university's continuous efforts and commitment to securing these recognitions by allocating 3.8 million dinars from the university's revenues, in addition to assistance from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government amounting to 80 million dinars to provide all necessary requirements. He also mentioned that the university delegation's visit to the Ministry of Higher Education in the federal government played a crucial role in reaching a better understanding of the recognition needs. Following the ceremony, the twelfth meeting of the university council for the academic year 2023-2024 was held. The official recognition of the Medical Faculty at Koya University marks a significant turning point in the university's history, aligning with the university's new motto, "A strong university for a stronger society.”
