The President of Koya University Welcomes a Delegation from University of Basrah 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq, the President of Koya University, welcomed a delegation from University of Basrah led by Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rasheed, Dean of the College of Engineering at University of Basrah.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawesh Bakir Bapir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University, and Mr. Mohammed Karim Sayedgol, Director of Public Relations at Koya University, received the delegation from Basrah University. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rasheed, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Hamed Hayab Sameer, Head of the Architecture Department at University of Basrah.

During the meeting, the President of Koya University extended his warm welcome to the delegation and expressed his delight in the scientific collaboration taking place under the Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities. He emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the objectives of such agreements and highlighted Koya University's commitment to turning these agreements into actionable outcomes. Dr. Sedeeq specifically pointed out the joint workshop as a practical product of the memorandum.

In response, Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rasheed expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended by Koya University. He praised the role of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq in supporting the collaboration and implementing the memorandum between the two institutions.

It is noteworthy that the delegation from Basrah University, which included faculty members, researchers, and students, visited Koya University to conduct a joint training course and scientific workshop.

Koya University and University of Basrah signed a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2023. As part of this collaboration, the two universities, alongside Missouri University and the Jalal Talabani Foundation, organized the Third International Conference on Oil Studies in April 2024
