Koya University Faculty of Education Lecturer Participates in Humanities and Educational Sciences Conference
Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahat Abdulrazzaq Said, a lecturer in the Department of Education and Psychology at the Faculty of Education, Koya University, participated with a scientific research paper in the "Humanities and Educational Sciences Conference" organized by the College of Basic Education at the University of Salahadin. This participation comes as part of Koya University's continuous efforts to enhance scientific research and disseminate knowledge within the academic community.
The research addressed a vital topic in higher education titled "Evaluating Implementation Efficiency in Teaching Among University Professors - Faculty of Education as a Model," which aims to study and analyze the level of efficiency in applying modern teaching methods by faculty members in universities. This research sheds light on the importance of developing teachers' capabilities and improving the quality of education in academic institutions.
This research was completed through scientific collaboration with Asst. Lect. Shirin Said Karim and Asst. Lect. Shamol Ashti Saber, reflecting the spirit of teamwork and fruitful research cooperation among faculty members at the university. This collaboration demonstrates the importance of collaborative research in producing high-quality scientific studies with a positive impact on the educational process.
The "Humanities and Educational Sciences Conference" was held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the College of Basic Education, University of Salahadin, where a distinguished group of researchers and academics gathered to discuss the latest developments and research in the fields of humanities and educational sciences. The conference served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge among specialists in these vital fields.
This scientific participation falls within the framework of the second pillar of Koya University's strategic plan dedicated to "Research and Innovation," specifically the second objective which states "Increasing research opportunities for academic staff and students." This objective seeks to enhance the research environment at the university and provide more opportunities for researchers to accomplish and develop their scientific research.
This participation also aligns with the university's fourth strategy focused on "Organizing Conferences and Symposiums," which primarily aims to encourage and motivate faculty members and researchers at Koya University to actively participate in local and international scientific conferences. This strategy seeks to raise the university's scientific visibility and enhance its position in the local, regional, and international academic community.
The participation of Koya University faculty members in such scientific conferences reflects the university's commitment to developing scientific research and disseminating knowledge, while also contributing to building a strong network of academic relationships with other universities and educational institutions in the region. These participations open new horizons for scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange that serve the development of higher education and scientific research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Koya University (KOU) is located in the city of Koya (Koy Sanjaq) which is 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. It is on the foothills of a beautiful high mountain. Its campus has been carefully laid out to embrace the beautiful mountainous nature.
There are 4 Faculties and 2 Schools in KOU; Faculty of Engineering (FENG), Faculty of Science and Health (FSCH), Faculty of Education (FEDU), Faculty of Humanities and Social Silences (FHSS), Shcool of Physical Education (SPHE) and School of Medicine (SMED).
Also, there are two research centers; Genome Center and Malai Gawra Center. Moreover, at KOU there is an English Language Center (BELC) at KOU has been opened with the sponsorship of IREX and American embassy in Baghdad as well as with the support of Spring International Language Center of The University of Arkansas. KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.
KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).
Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
