A delegation from Koya University visits the FCO of the Deputy Prime Minister of the KRG

The President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H. S. Zangana, accompanied by a delegation, visited Dr. Rahi Rahbar Sayed Brayim, Director of the Follow-up and Coordination Office affiliated with the Deputy Prime Minister's Office of the Kurdistan Region.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Koya University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed H. S. Zangana, accompanied by the Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Asst. Prof. Dr. Ilham Majeed, Dean of Deanship of Research and Development Centers Asst. Prof. Dr. Halgurd Sarhang, Director of Relations Dr. Pakhshan Fahmi Farho, Head of Grant Department Dr. Heman Mohammad Saleh, and Koya University Media Director Asst. Lect. Muhammed Kareem Saedgul, visited Dr. Rahi Rahbar Sayed Brayim, Director of the Follow-up and Coordination Office affiliated with the Deputy Prime Minister's Office of the Kurdistan Region, for the purpose of congratulating the commencement of work and coordinating the implementation of several Koya University projects.

During this visit, in addition to conveying the congratulatory message, Koya University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed H. S. Zangana presented a congratulatory bouquet to Dr. Rahi Rahbar Sayed Brayim.

During the visit, the University President discussed Koya University's Strategic Plan 2023-2025 and presented the importance of the plan's pillars, noting that Koya University has established this plan as a roadmap for its work and has formed specialized implementation committees for each pillar.

For his part, Dr. Rahi Rahbar Sayed Brayim expressed his pleasure at the visit of the Koya University delegation and showed his satisfaction with the existence of Koya University's strategic plan, confirming his readiness for coordination and joint work with the university.

At the end of the visit, the Koya University President presented a copy of the university's Strategic Plan 2023-2027 to Dr. Rahi Rahbar Sayed Brayim.

Koya University (KOU) is located in the city of Koya (Koy Sanjaq) which is 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. Also, there are two research centers; Genome Center and Malai Gawra Center. Moreover, at KOU there is an English Language Center (BELC) at KOU has been opened with the sponsorship of IREX and American embassy in Baghdad as well as with the support of Spring International Language Center of The University of Arkansas. KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.

KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).

Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
