Koya University is the first among Kurdistan Universities and Iraqi Universities to implement a training course of SSM Training Course for 1 st year Students for the academic year 2018 -2019. This course is essential for first-year students who begin their academic study in order to develop their undergraduate skills and be prepared for the new academic life.

The course aims to train the students how to overcome the obstacles they will face at starting their undergraduate study. In addition of that, this course also enables the 1 st year students to easily engage in the new academic environment. The trainees can get knowledge about the administrative order of the University, regulations and discipline for undergraduate students, as well as using their official emails. They will acquire skills in time and stress management and having healthy academic life. The trainees will learn taking notes, writing reports and how to use references.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Know about University, Faculty and Department regulations and library importance.
  • Manage their academic life through time, stress management, healthy nutrition and life.
  • Learn how to engage and study at University.
  • Understand the essential skills that are necessary in their academic journey.
