On Thursday, 26, January 2023, at the  Faculty of Physical Education Seminar Hall, a seminar titled: "Unifying Sports Terminology" was held.

The seminar was held by the Kurdistan Sports Journalists Committee in cooperation with the  Faculty of Physical Education at Koya University and sponsored by the Karimi Alaka Foundation.

During the seminar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bahaddin Ali and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hawkar Salar Ahmad both highlighted the problems of the sports community with dialects and the unification of dialects.

The seminar, attended by a plenty number of lecturers from the  Faculty of Physical Education at Koya University. Furthermore, discussed the challenges facing the unification of sports terms and how to cooperate with the Kurdish language departments.

Another challenge to sports dialects is the multilingual kurdish language and the lack of a suitable word for some sports terms, which has made it's difficulties for sports journalists.

During the seminar, honorary awards were given to television channels, radio and journalists from the Koya district for their work in publishing  news, and sport activities.

Meanwhile, the Media Directorate of Koya University was awarded an honorary award.
