On Sunday, May 7, 2023, a workshop titled "TB: An Ancient Disease and a Health Problem Today" was held jointly by the Faculty of Science and Health and Faculty of Medicine of Koya University in the Presidency Hall. Participants included the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Koya University, Dr. Dawan Hawezi, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Health of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Taha Jalal, and a significant number of lectures and students. 

The workshop started with a minute of silence in honor of the Kurdish and Kurdish martyrs, followed by a remark by the dean of the faculty of science and health on behalf of both the faculty of general medicine and the faculty of science and health.

The workshop was held to expand knowledge about TB, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as to lower the disease's death rate and stop the development of multidrug resistance.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Salam Ghafoor Tahir moderated the first panel of the workshop, which was delivered in two separate sessions.

A topic about "History of TB, Types and Protection" by Dr. Safia Sabir Ibrahim was delivered. It discussed the history of TB, its types, and ways to prevent it.

Dr. Sabah Ghafoor wrote discussed a topic about "How to Diagnosis TB Radiologically". 

Dr. Zana Jamaluddin Mohammed Dzeyi provide a presentation about "Clinical Presentation, how to Diagnose TB". 

Dear Lect. Hana Ali Mohammed moderated the second panel. There were the following contributions:

Dr. Hemn Rasul Salih provided a presentation titled "Treatment of TB" that discussed how to treat tuberculosis.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Salam Ghafoor Tahir discussed a topic on the detection of non-tuberculous microorganisms based on synthesis cell wall components called "TB, NTM detection based on synthesized cell wall components".

The panels were followed by conversations, questions, and answers on the subjects covered by the speakers, which expanded and added to the content of the workshop's conversations and issues. The workshop came to a close after the presenters received their certificates of participation.
