A Lecturer From Faculty of Medicine at Koya University got a fellowship from The American College of Surgeons in the United States of America.

The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Dawan Jamal Hawezy, became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, in the United States.

Dr. Dawan Jamal Hawezy in his speech to the Media Directorate mentioned: ‘The American College of Surgeons has been established for 110 years and has more than 90,000 Fellows worldwide, and according to the college's official website, Membership is for doctors from different fields of surgery around the world in a formal ceremony, we attended the annual conference of the College in Boston.

About the process and requirements of being a fellow at this college, Dr. Dawan pointed out:

"After a thorough evaluation of qualifications and professionalism in work, loyalty to the profession, loyalty to patients, high medical ethics, and equality in serving patients, the applicant will be accepted as a fellowship.

In addition, this step comes within the framework of the international pillar and integration with the society of Koya University’s strategic plan 2023-2027.
