The Department of Religious Education in the Faculty of Education, within the framework of the "Integration with Society" strategic plan of Koya University 2023-2027, The Department of Religious Education, Faculty of Education, Koya University, held a scientific workshop.

On Wednesday 1 November 2023, in the presence of Koya University’s President, Asst.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Hasib Seddiq, members of the University Council, lecturers, and students of Koya University, the Department of Religious Education at the Faculty of Education of KOU conducted a workshop entitled " The Role of Education in Combating Drugs from an Islamic and Social Perspective" in the Presidency Hall of the KOU.

 The workshop began by reading some verses of the Holy Qur'an and then the national anthem "Ay Raqeeb".

 Then the head of the religious education department, Dr. Arazw Nooraldean Rashid, Delivered a welcoming speech.

 The next section was dedicated to the award of Honorary Award by the President of Koya University, Asst.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq to Prof.Dr. Jamal Muhammad Faqi Rasul and M. Ahmed Omer Hasan, for their training in postgraduate studies, Even though they are retired.

 The next section was the beginning of the workshop's panels and the first panel was led by Prof.Dr. Badrkhan Mustafa Ibrahim with the following presenters:

 Asst.Prof.Dr. Bakhtiar Kamal Mohammed Talabani, Sulaimani Polytechnic University presented a paper on "The Role of Education in Increasing Awareness among Adolescents to Combat Drugs"

 Dr. Omar Ali Psychotherapist presented the topic “Drugs and Our Generations Between East and West”.

Mr. Rekawt Mohammed Taha, Investigator at the Security Foundation, presented the topic of “Data about Drug Statistics”.

  The second panel was led by Asst.Lect. Omed Mohammed and the following topics were presented:

 The topic " Provisions of Drugs in the Book and Sunnah" was presented by Asst.Prof.Dr. Hashim Ismail Ibrahim.

"The Role of Faithful Education in the Fight against Drugs" was presented by Asst.Lect. Mohammed Azad Smael.

 “The position of the Islamic religion on the scourge of drugs and methods of treating it” was presented by Asst. Lect Hakeem Abubaker Ali

The final section of the workshop was to distribute honorary certificates to the presenters.
