A workshop on " Steps to Develop Scientific Research " was held in the Faculty of Science and Health by the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Development Centers at Koya University's Scientific Research and Health Center.

The "Steps to Develop Scientific Research " workshop was held at Koya University on Monday, February 12, 2024, with lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Health and the Director of the Center for Scientific and Health Research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaseen Nuri, in attendance.

The Center for Scientific and Health Research arranged this workshop in accordance with Koya University's strategic plan and the "Innovation and Research" pillar.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaseen Nuri, the director of the Center for Scientific and Health Research, made a speech before beginning the workshop.

Subsequently, the workshop's topics which covered a wide range of subjects linked to scholarly and scientific study, were presented in two panels as follows:

 "How to choose a suitable journal to publish" was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Fahmi Muhammad.

"How to write an article review" was another topic that was presented by Dr. Karzan Abdulkarim Omar.

"Collaboration in Academic Research" was presented by Dr. Rebaz Anwar Omar.

"Reference Writing in a Research Paper" was presented by Dr. Arian Fathullah Qadir.

"How to follow up on your submitted paper status" was presented by Dr. Hemn Mohammed Salih.

Following the panels, participants asked questions and shared their views on the subjects, and the last section of the workshop was devoted to giving certificates of participation to the workshop speakers.

KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.

KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).

Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
