The Koya University delegation, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Haseeb Siddiq, the Koya university's president, visited a number of universities and held significant meetings on their first day in Basrah.

During their visit to Basrah, the delegation of Koya University visited University of Basrah, Basrah University for Oil and Gas and Southern Polytechnic University on Thursday, February 29, 2024 and were welcomed by the presidents and members of the university councils.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Haseeb Siddiq, the President of Koya University, congratulated Prof. Dr. Jawad Kazim on his appointment as the President of University of Basrah and wished him luck in his job during his visit to the university.

The President emphasized how crucial it is to strengthen connections between the two universities and move forward with putting the Memorandum of Understanding that was agreed in October into action.

In his speech, the president of Koya University discussed the arrangements for the third international oil conference, which will take place in April 2024 and is being organized by the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, University of Basrah, and Missouri University of Science and Technology in Koya.

As for University of Basrah, its president conveyed his delight at the visit of the Koya University delegation, emphasized the value of strengthening ties between the two organizations across all domains, and emphasized the significance of the Third International Oil Conference for Iraq in general and Basrah in particular.

The expansion of academic and scientific infrastructure as well as the linkages between universities and the industry were among the major collaborative projects between the two universities that were discussed during the meeting.

The delegation's second site on the first day of the visit was Basrah University for Oil and Gas. The Koya University President discussed the goals of the visit and Koya University's mission to foster coordination and communication among Iraqi universities during the visit. The Third International Oil Conference was another topic covered by the President.

The delegation visited Southern Polytechnic University during its third site of the visit, where they had discussions about a number of crucial topics.

During their final visit, the Koya University delegation met in-depth with the Basrah University preparation committee for the Third International Oil Conference. The Third International Oil Conference's most recent arrangements were thoroughly reviewed during the meeting, and the next actions necessary to ensure the conference's success were decided.

It is worthwhile to mention that a delegation from Koya University, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, will be visiting Basrah and Baghdad for a series of meetings.
