The Koya University delegation proceeded to Baghdad on the second day of their visit, during which they conducted a number of significant meetings. On Saturday, March 2, 2024 the Koya University delegation paid a visit to The American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) and were welcomed by Dr. Michael Mulnix along with University Council members.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq discussed the university's position on these matters and emphasized the significance of Koya University in terms of cooperation, mutual understanding, and mutual benefit with other universities during a meeting held in the president's office of The American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB).
The president discussed Koya University's strategic plan and gave an overview of the universities that will work in tandem with American universities, particularly the Green University and the research and innovation institutions.
The areas in which Koya University stands to gain from the Academic Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities were also noted by Koya University president.
On the other hand, Dr. Michael Mulnix, the president of The American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB), conveyed his gratitude for the Koya University delegation's visit and discussed the significance of international university cooperation.
The President of the American University then presented a summary of the American University and expressed his pleasure to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Koya University.
The Koya University President invited everyone to the Third International Oil Conference and provided an overview on Koya University's strategic plan during the meeting.
The delegation's second visiting site was Baghdad University and welcomed by Members of the university council and Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf.
During the visit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, President of Koya University, wished the Rector of Baghdad University luck in his new role and congratulated him on his appointment.
Koya University President explained the purpose of the visit of the delegation of Koya University to Baghdad and pointed out the importance of developing coordination between Koya University and Baghdad University.
The Koya University President invited the Baghdad University President to attend the Third International Oil Conference, which will take place in Koya at the end of April, and emphasized the value of conducting collaborative research, workshops, and conferences between the two universities during the meeting.
Prof. Dr. Bahaa Insaf, the President of Baghdad University, on his part, expressed gratitude and joy for the visit with the delegation and the president of Koya University.
Baghdad University's president emphasized the value of collaboration across universities and expressed hope that such collaboration will result in a useful memorandum of understanding.
It is worthwhile to mention that a delegation from Koya University, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, will be visiting Basra and Baghdad for a series of meetings. The delegation includes Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Pakhshan Fahmi Farho, Director of Public relations directorate, and Asst. Lect. Mohammed Kareem Sayedgul, Director of Media Directorate.
