The Indian Consul in Erbil had a Visit to Koya University

Today, 8th November 2021, the Indian Consul & Head of Chancery at the Indian Conulate in Erbil, Mr. M.V. Sunder, had a vist to Koya University. His Excellensay Mr. M.V. Sunder had a meeting with the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Wali Hamad and with the Vice Presidents Dr. Haidar Lashkry and Dr. Rostam Salam Aziz. A meeting with Faculties' Deans was also held. Mr. M.V. Sunder had a tour inside the campus of Koya University. Also, he had a tour inside Koya City, the Qushla region.

KOU Participated the Chinese Government's Series of Seminars on the "Smart Cities Under Belt and Road Initiative - طريق الحرير "

Koya Universities participated a series of seminars that held by the China Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) - the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO). Prof. Salah I. Yahya and Dr. Abdulbasit Kamel were represented KOU and IRAQ in this series of seminars, among 132 participants from more than 20 countries in the globe. The series of seminars consisted of 12 intenseve sessions for 3 hrs per each, for about 14 days, 14 Oct. 2021 - 27th Oct. 2021. Prof. Salah I. Yahya, has been selected to address the closing cermony, today 27th Oct. 2021, by a speech.

KUJHSS Journal has been Included in the Arabic Citation Index (ARCI)

Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences has been accepted for inclusion in the Arabic Citation Index (ARIC). The Arabic Citation Index is created in partnership with the Egyptian government, with the goal of covering content from the Arab-speaking world.

Incites WoS launched its latest report for the universities' number of published indexed documents and number of citations. The DQA at KOU Held 4 Workshops on the QA Regulations and the New e-Platforms

The Directorate of Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development at Koya University held 4 workshops with the academic teaching staff to explain the QA guidelines and regulation, and the new e-platforms that launched to mange the academic staff profiles, PF&CAD activities, module management system, course management dashboard, and other e-platforms. The 4 workshops were chaired by Prof. Dr. Salah I. Yahya, the Director of the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Curriculum Deveopment.

The DQA at KOU Held its First Meeting in the Academic Year (2021-2022) with the Faculties QA Officers

On 12th September 2021, the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development (DQA&CD) at Koya University (KOU) had a meeting with the Faculties QA officers. This is the first meeting that was held in the new academic year 2021-2022 with QA officers. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Salah I. Yahya, the Director of the DQA&CD. Japan Science Society and Nippon Foundation Donated Books to KOU with a Grant of JPY355,971

Koya University library is being selected by the Japan Science Society and Nippon Foundation to receive up to 200 books through “Books for Understanding Japan” donation program, the READ JAPAN PROJECT. This program is opened to overseas libraries and the selected institutions receive a donation of up to 200 English books on Japan from the Nippon Foundation (JPY355,971). The books have been carefully chosen by a committee of 21 experts with extensive knowledge of Japan and cover five mail categories: Politics & International Relations, Economics & Business, Society & Culture, Literature & Arts, and History. The major objectives of the books are to develop a greater understanding of Japan, support study and research in Iraq, and enhance understanding between the two countries.

Three Students from KOU got Full M.Sc. Scholarship from Nankai University and Southwest University of Jiaotong – China

Three students, one from the Department of Software Engineering and two from the Department of Architectural Engineering, at Koya University got full M.Sc. scholarships from the Nankai University, China and Southwest University of Jiaotong, China. These two scholarships from both universities were granted to the three students at Koya University based on the memorandum of understanding with Koya University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - KRI.
