A workshop titled "Green Economy in China: Key Insights, Challenges, and Opportunities for Sustainable Development" was presented by Ms. Hanaa Mohammed Ali at Koya University.
On Monday, 4 Sarmawezi 2724 in the Kurdish calendar, corresponding to November 25, 2024, the workshop was held in the university's presidency hall with the attendance of Dr. Hishyar Zaki, Vice President of Koya University for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs, Dr. Kosrat Nezhad, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Health, as well as faculty members and students.
The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of the green economy as a modern global framework, focusing specifically on China as a leading country in the field. It was presented by Ms. Hanaa Mohammed Ali, a faculty member in the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science and Health at Koya University, who had previously participated in a specialized course on the green economy in China from March to April.
In 2723 in the Kurdish calendar (2023), Koya University announced its strategic plan as part of its significant historical initiative to transition into a "Green University." This initiative aims to make Koya University an environmentally friendly and sustainable institution, aligned with the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. By focusing on environmental issues, particularly the green economy, the university strives to establish a new vision and contribute to building "a strong university for a stronger community."
