The President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, accompanied by a senior delegation, visited the "Kurdish Heritage Revival" Organization in Sulaymaniyah. They were received by the organization's head, Mr. Irfan Othman Ahmed, along with the Director of Sulaymaniyah Archaeology and Heritage, and a group of prominent manuscript experts and museum directors.

During the visit on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the delegation toured the organization's facilities to witness firsthand the meticulous processes of collecting, preserving, and restoring Kurdistan’s historical heritage. This was followed by a strategic meeting to discuss expanding mutual cooperation and academic exchange.

Digitization and Preserving the Legacy of "Malay Gawra"

 Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq highlighted Koya University’s strategic initiatives, praising the organization’s exceptional role in cleaning, verifying, and digitizing rare manuscripts from the University’s Central Library. He specifically commended the digitization of documents belonging to the renowned Kurdish scholar, "Malay Gawra," noting that this project directly aligns with the "Digitization" pillar of Koya University’s Strategic Plan.

Honor and Appreciation

 As a token of gratitude, President Sedeeq presented an award of appreciation to Mr. Irfan Othman, recognizing the organization's successful efforts in digitizing the university's archival treasures. This process ensures that vital historical documents are preserved for future generations and remain accessible to researchers worldwide.

Strengthening Institutional Bonds

 Koya University views the development of institutional relations with local and international organizations as a top priority within its seven-pillar Strategic Plan. The university delegation included the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hashiar Zaki, and directors of Post-graduate Studies, the Central Library, the Green Research Park, as well as the Secretary of the University Council and the Director of Media.
