An administrative meeting was held in the presence of the Vice presidents of universities  Koya، Soran، Halabja، Charmo، Raparin and Zakho For administrative and financial affairs, an administrative meeting was held on the issue of the administrative structure of universities.

During the meeting which was held in the council meeting room of Koya University and in the presence of the Vice president of Koya University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst.Prof.Dr. Rostam Salam Aziz, Vice President of Soran University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr Sherzad Saeed Sedeeq;, Vice President of Zakho University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr Diyar Abdulkareem Saeed, Vice President of Raparin University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr .Ahmed Mahmood Ahmed, Vice President of Halabja University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr  Sirwan Hamid Ahmed, Vice President of Charmo University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr Ayub Khasro Nadir and Vice President of Garmian University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Asst.Prof.Dr  Azaddin Jumaa Darwesh discussed the procedures for unifying the statute of the university's directors and some important administrative and financial issues of these universities.

On February 6th, 2023 under the supervision of The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr.Aram Mohammad Qadir, and the presidents of these seven universities at Koya University a ceremony was held to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between these seven universities.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is consisted of five main articles which include MOU’s main objectives, the implementation procedures, and duration. The primary objectives of MOU are the following:

  • Holding collaborative scientific events such as conferences, meetings, training sessions
  • Collaborating to offer joint postgraduate programs including joint higher diploma, master's, and doctoral programs.
  • Facilitating collaborative scientific research and developing an inter-university laboratory system
  • Exchanging students and academic staff based on agreements approved by the parties involved.
  • Working together to hold joint art, cultural, and sports events
  • Collaborating to secure local and international grants.

It is worth mentioning that the MoU between the seven KRG universities is valid for five years and can be extended with written approval of the parties.
