The Federal Government of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has Recognited Koya University's Faculty of Medicine
Koya University has continuously enhanced its academic, scientific, and professional capacities in the human and institutional domains since its founding in an effort to gain and maintain academic and scientific credibility on a national and worldwide scale.
The Federal Government of Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited to Koya University to inspect the recently founded departments and faculties and to add them to the list of Iraqi Universities, which already included the Faculty of Medicine.
Over the course of their multi-day visit, the ministry's high committee provided remarks and requirements to Koya University's presidency.
In order to expedite the formal accreditation of the Faculty of Medicine and address the suggestions and demands of the federal government's Ministry of Higher Education committee, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Haseeb Siddiq started forming a number of relevant committees.
In addition to completing the required coordination with the pertinent Kurdistan Regional Government ministries, including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the relevant Koya University committees got to work implementing the requests. The university's revenue was used to pay for the provision of teachers, laboratories, equipment, and many other items, with the whole cost of implementation exceeding 340 million dinars.
The Federal government of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research received the final report on the requirements' implementation, along with a formal letter outlining any flaws and remarks.
An exceptional Koya University team visited the cities of central and southern Iraq on October 1, 2023, with the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, the university's President, in which The Koya University delegation visited Baghdad, Najaf, and Basra.
Apart from signing multiple Memorandum of Understanding, Koya University's primary objective The goal was to win over the federal government's scientific and intellectual organizations. The Ministry of Higher Education Scientific Research of the Iraqi Government, the Minister of Justice, the President of Baghdad University, the President of Basrah University, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Basrah University, and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education Scientific Research were all met by a delegation from Koya University during their official accreditation of the Faculty of Medicine.
