The "Malai Gawra" Center, affiliated with the Directorate of Research and Development Centers at Koya University, organized a workshop titled "Formatting and Punctuation in Research Writing."

On Sunday, 3 Sarmawezi 2724 in the Kurdish calendar, corresponding to November 24, 2024, with the attendance of Koya University President Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sadiq, the Director of the Directorate of Research and Development Centers Dr. Halkurd Sarhang Magdeed, the Head of the "Malai Gawra" Research Center Dr. Nali Jawad, members of the university council, faculty, and students, the workshop was held in the university's presidency hall.

The workshop began with the national anthem "Ey Reqib" and a moment of silence to honor the martyrs of Kurdistan.

Following that, Dr. Nali Jawad, the Head of the "Malai Gawra" Research Center, gave a speech explaining the purpose and objectives of the workshop.

The first session of the workshop, titled "Formatting and Punctuation in the Kurdish Language," was chaired by Dr. Bakhshan Fahmi Farho and covered the following topics:

• "Punctuation Marks in the Kurdish Language," presented by Dr. Nawzad Anwar Omar.
• "Notes on Kurdish Writing," presented by Dr. Hemen Abdul Hamid Shams.

The second session, titled "Formatting and Punctuation in Arabic and English," was chaired by Ms. Sara Jamal Mohammed and covered the following topics:

• "Common Errors in Research Writing in Arabic," presented by Dr. Ibrahim Aboud Al-Samarrai.
• "Punctuation Marks and Their Significance in Scientific Research," presented by Ms. Koyan Ismail Jumaa.
• "Mastering the Mechanics: The Essentials to Academic Writing," presented by Mr. Hawkar Omar Ali.

The questions and comments from participants enriched the discussions on the workshop topics. At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates of participation were distributed to the presenters.
