The Petroleum Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Koya University, in collaboration with the Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department at the Iraqi Technological University, organized a workshop titled "Perspectives on Iraq and Kurdistan's Oil and Gas Industry."

The workshop was held on Monday, December 4, 2724 (Kurdish Calendar), corresponding to November 25, 2024 (Gregorian Calendar), in the workshop hall at the Faculty of Engineering, Koya University. The opening remarks were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University, Assistant Professor Dr. Gelawij Bakr Bapir.

Session 1:

The first session featured the following presentations:

• "Refinery Air Emission Management" presented by Dr. Najm Abdulkhadim from the Iraqi Technological University.
• "Simulation of Oil Fields Flare" presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Jafar Abdullah Ali from Koya University.
• "The Impact of Independent Planning on Exploration, Extraction, and Marketing: Evaluating the Economic and Strategic Outcomes of Oil Production in the Kurdistan Region" presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Farhad Abdulrahman Hamad from Koya University.

Session 2:

The second session included the following topics:

• "CO2 Storage in Geological Formations: Trapping Mechanisms and Influencing Parameters" presented by Dr. Fazil Sarhan from the Iraqi Technological University.
• "Sustainable Lost Circulation Material (LCM): Eco-Friendly Solutions for the Future of Iraq and Kurdistan’s Oil and Gas Industry" presented by Dr. Pashtiwan Tahsin Muhammad from Koya University.
• "Challenges in Oil and Gas Production in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq: A Historical Review, Current Landscape, and Future Prospects" presented by Dr. Serhad Ahmad Farakha from Koya University.

Discussion and Closing:

The sessions concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, enhancing the depth of the discussions. Certificates of participation were awarded to the presenters at the end of the workshop.
