The President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, welcomed the Head of the Kurdish Institute in Italy, Soran Yaseen Ahmed, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Luca Condida from the University of Bologna, along with their accompanying delegation.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with the presence of the Vice President of Koya University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yadgar Abdullah Ali, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, Dr. Sahar Basel from the Department of Architecture, the Director of Public Relations at the university, Dr. Pakhsan Fahmi, and the Head of Media, Mr. Mohammed Karim Sidko, the delegation from the Kurdish Institute in Italy and the University of Bologna was warmly received.

During the reception, the President of Koya University expressed his delight at hosting the delegation. He also provided an overview of the university's history, its objectives, and its strategic academic and scientific plans under the 2023-2027 strategic framework.

Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq highlighted the university's core strategic objectives, emphasizing its initiative to become a green university in Kurdistan and Iraq. He also underscored its commitment to welcoming international collaborations and partnerships, particularly in alignment with COP29’s agenda.

The Head of the Kurdish Institute in Italy, Soran Yaseen Ahmed, expressed his appreciation for visiting Koya University, acknowledging its significant steps in the fields of environmental conservation and heritage protection.

Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Luca Condida, the head of the delegation from the University of Bologna, shared his enthusiasm about returning to Koya University. He discussed a project under the Erasmus+ program, inviting Koya University to join the initiative.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, presented the university's plaque to Soran Yaseen Ahmed, Head of the Kurdish Institute in Italy. He also shared Koya University’s 2023-2027 strategic plan with Asst. Prof. Dr. Luca Condida and showcased the university’s Green University model.
