Two graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University have won the first and fifth places in the “Qalat” Award at the Kurdistan level.
On Saturday, December 30, 2024, the official ceremony for the “Qalat” Award was held by the Kurdish Center for Arts and Culture (KCAK) at the Kurdistan level in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, aiming to preserve the architectural heritage in the city.
The two graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University participated in their graduation projects, with the graduate "Abdulbari Zubair Yunis" winning the first place for his project "Reimagining the Kalakins Slum Houses in Sulaimania," and the graduate "Arian Shwkr Khidr" winning the fifth place for her project "The Rehabilitation of Galkand Park in Erbil." Their projects were supervised by the faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University, Dr. Shimaa Fadel and Mr. Samal Osman.
