Koya University Announces "Zanko Award" for Best Student Project in Environmental Protection and Sustainability

Koya - Koya University announced an important initiative by University President Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, launching the "Zanko Award" for the best student project in environmental protection and sustainability.

This award is based on the "Green University" and "Student Success" pillars of Koya University's Strategic Plan (2023-2027), and aims to develop students' capabilities and encourage them to work in environmental protection and sustainability fields, which align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals vision and objectives.

Under this initiative, 18 awards have been allocated for the best student projects in environmental protection and sustainability across all university faculties. Project awards are distributed at the faculty level as follows:

First Prize 500,000 dinars, Second Prize 250,000 dinars, and Third Prize 100,000 dinars.

To participate in this award, students must first complete the participation application form through the following links:

The deadline for submitting the participation application form is March 12, 2025.

After the application submission period ends, a specialized committee will conduct preliminary evaluation of the projects, and results will be announced within one week. Accepted projects must be submitted in their final form (complete project) by May 1, 2025, to specialized committees in the faculties for final evaluation.

The winning projects will be displayed and honored in a special ceremony on Koya City Day on May 15, 2025, which coincides with the first anniversary of the Green University initiative announcement.
