Koya University Delegation Visits VIM Foundation to Enhance Academic and Institutional Cooperation

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, a high-level delegation from Koya University, led by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, conducted an official visit to the VIM Foundation in Sulaymaniyah. The visit aimed to discuss prospective collaboration and strategic partnership opportunities between Koya University and the foundation.

The delegation included; Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yadgar Abdullah Ali; Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawizh Bakir Bapir; Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Elham Majid Qader; and the Director of Media, Asst. Lect.. Muhammed Karim Saedgul. They were formally received by the President of the VIM Foundation, Mrs. Lava Hikmat.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana provided an overview of Koya University’s history and its distinguished academic standing locally and internationally. He highlighted that the university officially launched its Strategic Plan (2023-2027) in September 2023, serving as a comprehensive roadmap to achieve its long-term goals. The President emphasized the crucial role of strategic planning for academic institutions and outlined the core pillars of the university's strategy.

Furthermore, the President discussed the practical steps and major projects initiated by the university within the framework of its strategic pillars. He specifically elaborated on the "Green University" initiative, noting that high-level committees have been established for each strategic pillar to ensure rigorous execution. Dr. Siddiq underscored the importance of synergy between the university and active organizations, inviting the VIM Foundation to support Koya University in implementing its strategic projects.

For her part, the President of VIM Foundation, Mrs. Lava Hikmat, welcomed the delegation and commended Koya University’s strategic vision and ambitious initiatives. She expressed the foundation's full readiness to collaborate and provide the necessary support for projects that benefit the educational and social sectors. At the conclusion of the session, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana presented an official copy of Koya University’s Strategic Plan to Ms. Lava Hikmat, reinforcing the university's commitment to fostering partnerships with local and international institutions.
