The President of Koya University, Professor Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, received the Chairman of the Board of the "Meed" Foundation for Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Amanj Yarways, and his accompanying delegation on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The meeting, held at the university presidency, was attended by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Chya Jawhar, as well as the directors of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Gardens, and Engineering and Projects.
This visit comes as part of the activation of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties last year, aimed at strengthening coordination in shared fields and evaluating future work opportunities.
The visiting delegation from the "Meed" Foundation included Project Manager Ms. Tina Karim, team member Ms. Alle Nabaz, and the Director of Public Relations, Mr. Zhir Burhan, where discussions focused on developing the existing partnership to serve sustainable development goals.
During a field portion of the meeting, the University President and the guest delegation inspected the advanced Air Quality sensor provided by the "Meed" Foundation to the university.
This device currently monitors the air quality within the Koya University campus continuously, recording precise data and measurements that allow the university to oversee the environmental status and provide a healthy, sustainable campus environment, which aligns with the university's "Green University" initiative.
Through these meetings, Koya University seeks to strengthen its ties with developmental and economic institutions and transform written agreements into tangible technical and field projects. This partnership with the "Meed" Foundation serves as a model for purposeful cooperation that combines academic expertise with modern technology to address environmental and sustainable economic issues, benefiting both the students and the local community.
