Within the framework of Koya University’s Strategic Plan (2023-2027) and its seventh pillar, the "Green University Initiative," our university is implementing a new environmental procedure: source-segregating waste based on material type. To support this initiative, the university has provided dedicated recycling bins for paper and plastic, alongside general waste bins, throughout the University Presidency building. The specific guidelines for waste segregation are detailed below:

🗑️ Paper Recycling Bin

✅ Please place the following items in this bin:

  • Used office paper.
  • Printed documents and papers.
  • Letter envelopes and paper packaging.
  • Cardboard boxes or paperboard containers.

❌ Do NOT place the following items in this bin:

  • Wet paper.
  • Paper mixed with food waste.
  • Greasy or oily paper.
  • Disposable/travel coffee cups.

🗑️ Plastic Recycling Bin

✅ Please place the following items in this bin:

  • Empty plastic water bottles.
  • Plastic cups.
  • Plastic containers and tubs.
  • Plastic packaging and wrappers.

💡 Essential steps before disposal:

  • Empty any remaining liquids or food residues from the plastic items before throwing them away.
  • If possible, flatten or crush plastic bottles to minimize volume and optimize bin space.

❌ Do NOT place the following items in this bin:

  • Plastic contaminated with food.
  • Heavily soiled or greasy plastic.
  • Mixed or general household waste.

Thank you for supporting the Green University Initiative. Small steps certainly make a big impact.
