Within the framework of continuous follow-ups and strategic preparations by the Koya University Presidency to welcome the upcoming academic year, the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, held an extensive and high-level meeting with the Council of the Faculty of Education to review academic and infrastructural readiness.

The meeting took place on Monday, June 29, 2026. The presidential delegation included the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs (Asst. Prof. Dr. Yadgar Abdullah Ali), the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education (Prof. Dr. Hoshiar Zaki), the Vice President for Student Affairs (Asst. Prof. Dr. Azheen Tahir Sabir), and the Secretary of the University Council (Lect. Chya Jawhar). The Faculty of Education Council was represented by the Dean (Prof. Dr. Safin Jalal Fathullah), the Vice Deans (Asst. Prof. Dr. Hiwa Amin Jalal and Asst. Prof. Dr. Alan Salah Sadi), the Head of the History Department (Prof. Dr. Kamaran Aziz), the Head of the Geography Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashti Salam), the Head of the English Language Department (Ms. Awin Tahir Sabir), the Head of the Kurdish Language Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Talar Sabah), the Head of the Arabic Language Department (Dr. Azad Abdullah Mohammed), the Head of the Religious Education Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Arezoo Rashid), and the Head of the Education and Psychology Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahat Abdulrazaq Saeed).

Focusing on the Educational Environment and Infrastructure

A major part of the meeting was dedicated to an in-depth, categorized discussion regarding all academic, administrative, service-related, and infrastructural requirements of the faculty. The primary goal of these measures is to eliminate administrative obstacles, upgrade facilities, and foster a highly contemporary educational environment that elevates the learning experience for both students and faculty members.

Emphasizing Proactive Planning and Institutional Collaboration

Highlighting the university's upcoming institutional strategy, President Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana stated: "Proactive preparation and direct coordination between the University Presidency, the faculties, and the relevant directorates are the ultimate guarantee for the success of our next academic cycle, ensuring we commence with a significantly higher scientific and administrative standard than previous years." Consequently, members of the Faculty Council presented their proposals and comprehensive needs assessments, for which the University Presidency reaffirmed its absolute support in addressing challenges and fulfilling administrative requests.
