Pursuing the executive procedures of the "Green University" initiative, the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S.  Zangana, conducted an official visit to the General Directorate of Investment in Sulaimani.

Strategic Discussions and Implementation Protocols

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the President of Koya University was received by the Director General of Investment in Sulaimani, Mr. Amanj Jalal. The meeting focused on Koya University's Comprehensive Strategic Plan, particularly highlighting the implementation steps of the "Green University Initiative" launched under the auspices of the KRG Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Qubad Talabani.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S.  Zangana emphasized the transformative significance of this initiative, pointing out that its implementation places Koya University as a pioneering model in environmental sustainability and eco-friendly institutional management. He highlighted the need for inter-institutional cooperation and sustained support to fulfill the initiative’s roadmap.

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Zangana commended the collaborative efforts of relevant authorities, expressing appreciation for the continuous support provided by Ms. Zhwan Sabir, President of the KRG Tourism Board.

Mr. Amanj Jalal, Director General of Investment in Sulaimani, expressed his pleasure regarding the visit and affirmed his full support and readiness to collaborate in advancing the "Green University" initiative and its operational procedures.

The meeting was attended by Twana Ibrahim, Director of Licensing and Evaluation; Ms. Rezha Tahir, Director of Supervision and Follow-up; and Lect. Chiya Jowhar Omar, Secretary of the Koya University Council.
