In an official ceremony held in Baghdad, Dr. Shilan Samin Hameed, a faculty member in the Software Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Koya University, received an award of appreciation from the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in recognition of her scientific innovation.

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Al-Farahidi University in Baghdad hosted a ceremony dedicated to honoring innovators and accomplished academics from across Iraq. Organized in collaboration with the Iraqi Academics Syndicate and Al-Farahidi University, the event was attended by Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Ali Al-Musaer Yaseen, President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate; Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawesh Bakr Bapir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University; alongside prominent academic figures and senior officials.

Earlier, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana (Sadiq), alongside members of the University Council, hosted Dr. Shilan and fellow innovative researchers to express the university’s institutional appreciation for their contributions to academic excellence.
