In a remarkable international academic and technological triumph, a student from the Faculty of Engineering at Koya University has won fourth place globally in the World Finals of the Huawei ICT Competition, hosted in the People's Republic of China.

Path to Global Recognition and Regional Dominance

Student Madyan Nazmi Fakher, studying in the Department of Software Engineering, represented Iraq as a core member of the national team. This world-stage recognition followed rigorous preliminary knockout rounds across universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, followed by triumph over contenders from 19 nations across the Middle East and Central Asia.

Competing in the specialized "Computing Track," Team Iraq secured first place regionally, earning their ticket to the Global Finals in China. Competing against elite student innovators from prestigious universities worldwide, the team demonstrated superior technical prowess to claim fourth place internationally.
