As part of his ongoing field inspections to oversee service, environmental, and infrastructural developments, the President of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana, inspected progress on the university campus pond project and the construction of the Koya University President Inspects Construction Progress of Campus Pond and Faculty of Education Entrance.

Inspection of the Faculty of Education Portal and Landscapes

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the University President—accompanied by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, engineers and officials from the Directorate of Engineering and Projects, and the Head of Campus Landscaping—visited the Faculty of Education. He reviewed ongoing construction work on the main entrance and surrounding landscape, receiving a detailed briefing from supervising engineers regarding project milestones and completion rates.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana emphasized the necessity of adhering to strict technical specifications and approved quality benchmarks. He noted that these upgrades aim to cultivate an inspiring, comfortable educational environment for students while enhancing the aesthetic landscape of the faculty.

The Campus Pond Project and the 'Green University' Initiative

Subsequently, the President inspected the "Campus Pond Construction Project," an environmental milestone executed under the Green University pillar and the fourth strategic action of the Green University Initiative within the Koya University Strategic Plan (2023–2027), supported by the KRG Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources. During the site visit, he met with the engineering teams and project managers to assess the technical phases of implementation.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed H.S. Zangana underscored the strategic value of the pond in optimizing water resource management, irrigating campus vegetation, and maintaining ecological balance throughout the university grounds.

Concluding the visit, the President commended the engineering and technical personnel, urging them to maintain rigorous quality standards and ensure timely completion aligned with the university’s modern expansion and academic mission.

Under its Five-Year Strategic Plan and in alignment with the "Green University" initiative declared by KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, Koya University continues to intensify its initiatives in sustainable infrastructure, afforestation, and clean energy adoption, solidifying its position as a pioneer of ecological sustainability across the Kurdistan Region.
