An international workshop identified as "The Role of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering in Defense Technology" was held at the Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Koya University.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, together with an impressive number of lecturers and pupils, attended an international conference on "The Role of Construction and Industrial Engineering in Defense Technology" on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. in the Engineering Faculty's seminar hall.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Galawezh Bakr Bapir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, provided an opening remark to the workshop.
The need for ballistic protection and the fight against terrorism make this workshop particularly important. It aims to develop the fields of defense so that various engineering fields, particularly construction and industrial engineering, can be effective in this regard.
The workshop's first panel covered the following two topics:
Asst. Prof. Dr. Payman Sohbat Ahmad from the Department of Construction and Industrial Engineering at Koya University remarked on the subject of "What has been done by the Department of Construction Engineering in the last five years."
Dr. Omar Hashim Hassun discussed "Numerical and Analytical Modeling of Ballistic Impact of Aluminate Composite Armor Using FEA Abaqus Software" at Baghdad University of Technology.
The following subjects were covered on the second panel:
Prof. Dr. Bassim Mohammed Fazil from Erbil Polytechnic University presented a presentation titled "Ansys Autodyn and Effective Modeling."
The topic of Dr. Fawaz Abbas Taha's presentation was "Importance of Defensive Body Armor Technology" at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At the conclusion of the panels, there were question-and-answer sessions and a discussion of scientific subjects, and the presenters received certificates of participation.
