Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program participants received awards from Koya University during a formal occasion.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the presence of WFP Deputy Director in Iraq Ms. Ikram Al-Hooni, President of Koya University Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, Director General of Employment Centers in the Kurdistan Region Ms. Kochar Azad and council members Koya University and participants of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program and a significant number of teachers, students and local guests in the presidential hall of Koya University on the sidelines of a special ceremony awarded the teachers and graduates of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program.
The World Food Program and Koya University's Directorate of Career services collaborated on the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program, which was funded by 114 million Iraqi dinars.
The national anthem "Ay Raqeeb" and a standing ovation to honor the spirits of the Kurdish martyrs opened the ceremony.

In his speech, the president emphasized the value of WFP's assistance for this program at Koya University and the significance of the Agricultural Industrial Development Program.
The Koya University president, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, addressed the graduates of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program in his speech and said, "Through this program, our graduates have been given the knowledge, tools and practical experience needed to succeed in the agricultural entrepreneurship sector accomplished, developed their business-leading thinking and cultivated innovative approaches to solving challenges faced by farmers and our society."
In the next section, Ms. Ikram Al-Hooni, Deputy Director of Global Program Organization in Iraq, then delivered her speech. Dr. Rasti Ali delivered a speech.
The next session was dedicated to the presentation of awards by the president of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq to the Deputy Director of the World Food Program in Iraq, Ms. Ikram Al-Hooni agricultural and program teachers and trainers.
Then, 38 graduates of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program received awards from WFP Deputy Director-General Ms. Ikram Al-Hooni.
The representative of the graduates of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program remarked at the final session which was given by Ms. Chro Swar.
Development Program for Agricultural Entrepreneurship
About 40 young people from the Koya district participated in this program, which was carried out after Koya University received funding from the World Food Program. In order to train them in agricultural entrepreneurship, 20 participants submitted their own projects, each of which will receive funding of 3,675,000 Iraqi Dinars, and Koya University will continue to give the owners of these projects the required guidance and supervision.
