The Department of Architectural Engineering of KOU conducted a workshop in the field of architecture in the Faculty of Engineering of KOU within the framework of the exchange of experience program between Kurdistan and Germany.
On Sunday, October 29, 2023, in the presence of the President of Koya University, Asst.Prof.Dr Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, some members of the university council, external and internal guests, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Engineering of KOU, A workshop Held at the Faculty of Engineering, in the field of architectural engineering on the main topics of architecture, urban planning and environmental protection within the framework of the exchange of experience program between Kurdistan and Germany.
The workshop began with a welcoming speech by the Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering of KOU, Dr. Wezha Hawez Bayz welcomed the guests and participants and explained the purpose of the workshop.
Dr. Wezha pointed out that they as the Department of Architecture of Koya University aim to create an architectural platform for the exchange of ideas, perspectives, and experiences as part of the exchange program between Kurdistan and Germany in the fields of architecture, urban planning and environment and related topics.
The workshop then started with two different panels. The first panel entitled "The Situation of Pedestrians in Cities of the Kurdistan Region" was presented by Engineer Abdul Momin Dashti.
The second panel of the workshop was presented by the head of the Architectural Engineering Department of Koya University Dr. Wezha Hawez Bayz under the title "Urban Informality in Popular Culture in Urban Space - in Local Scale"
The Kurdistan-Germany Experience Exchange Program (KGEEP) is a joint program between Kurdistan and Germany aimed at exchanging experience in the field of engineering at the same time, the future coordination of this program aims to build a bridge between the Kurdistan Region and Germany in the fields of engineering, urbanization, environment, and other related fields. The institutions of higher education in Kurdistan and Germany have the opportunity to create a suitable opportunity for the exchange of experience and expertise.
At the same time, during the workshop program, Koya University organized a tour of Koya city for guests and visited the cultural and ancient sites of the city.
