On Saturday, December 23, 2023, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir and Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government Dr. Abdulfattah Abdulrazzaq, President of Koya University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, party and government officials, a number of university presidents of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Directors General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, The 18th graduation ceremony of Koya University for the academic year 2022-2023 was held in the hall of the Faculty of Physical Education of Koya University.
The event started with the graduating students from Koya University's six faculties entering the graduation hall, followed by university instructors and the Koya University Council. Additionally, Abdullah Yousef recited a number of verses from the Holy Quran.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Qareman Nader Sheikh Bzeni, Vice President of Koya University for Student Affairs, gave the following speech.
Koya University President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Siddiq, gave a speech to mark the KOU's 18th graduation ceremony.
The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdulrazzaq, then gave the speech on behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Afterwards, Aland Aran Hawezi, representative of Koya University’s graduating students gave a speech.
The Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Hishyar Zaki, then recited the graduates' oath. Students from the faculties of engineering, science and health, education, humanities and social sciences, medicine and physical education took their dismissal oath.
In the section that followed, graduating students from each of Koya University's six faculties received bachelor's degrees from the presidency of the university's council.
The ceremony concluded with a photographing opportunity featuring the top three students of Koya University for the academic year 2022–2023, along with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the President of Koya University, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and representatives from the Koya University Council.

Koya University (KOU) is located in the city of Koya (Koy Sanjaq) which is 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. Moreover, at KOU there is an English Language Center (BELC) at KOU has been opened with the sponsorship of IREX and American embassy in Baghdad as well as with the support of Spring International Language Center of The University of Arkansas. KOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+.
KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021).
Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
