Aligning with the university's new motto, "A Strong University for a Stronger Society," and it's one of the pillars of Koya University’s strategic plans "Serving the Community," the tribute event took place on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Notable attendees included Koya University's President, Asst.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq, the District Administrator of Koya, Mr, Tareq Haidari,and members of the University Council, and prominent figures from the administrative, political, and social spheres of Koya.

During his address, Dr. Sedeeq underscored the university's commitment to supporting writers and intellectuals, particularly within Kurdistan and Koya. He reiterated the university's belief in its societal role, encapsulated by the motto, and pledged ongoing efforts toward community service.

The ceremony featured a poignant documentary detailing the life of Hamid Rashash, crafted by Gali Kurdistan TV channel in Erbil.

As a culmination, Farhad Hamed Rashash bestowed an award to Asst.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Sedeeq, while certificates of appreciation were bestowed upon the printing committee , including Dr. Luqman Wsu, Secretary of the University Council, and Chairman of the printing committee, Asst.Lect.Mohammed Karim Saidgul, Director of the Koya University’s Media Directorate, Mr. Hoshmand Salim, and Asst.Prof.Dr. Hawzhin Slewa.
