Being one of the six main faculties of Koya University, the Faculty of Engineering has contributed to a significant number of engineers with degrees from Kurdistan, and its graduates have an excellent opportunity of finding jobs in the labor market. Student chapters are increasingly successful in attaining the goal of student diversity in contests, seminars, and conference sessions.
Most private and public universities in the Kurdistan Region, as well as Koya University, particularly the Faculty of Engineering, have student chapters that are branches of various international organizations and institutions. The departments of civil, geotechnical, chemical, and petroleum engineering, in particular, have three chapters. These chapters ought to be examined by the media; to that end, the faculty dean, heads of pertinent departments, and supervisors of the chapters have provided statements.
The Koya University Faculty of Engineering has several chapters, one of which being the American Concrete Institute / Students Chapter (ACI). Established in the academic year 2022-2 in the Faculty of Engineering, the Department of Geotechnical Engineering is overseen by Koya University. Additionally, it improves students' technical proficiency, which opens up work options and strengthens graduates' resumes. Students who are a part of these chapters also feel more motivated and hopeful to keep going with their education.
Another chapter of the Koya University Faculty of Engineering is the American Institute of Chemical Engineering/Koya University Student Chapter (AICHE), which is housed at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Koya University. According to Lect. Rebwar Krmanj Abdulrahman, this chapter will help expand students' professional experience through a variety of student competitions. It will also help further introduce the Department of Chemical Engineering on a local and global scale. It facilitates and improves their ability to find employment following graduation.
Under the direction of Asst. Lect. Mohammed Jamal, Coordinator of Koya University's Department of Petroleum Engineering, the Society of Petroleum Engineering / Students Chapter is devoted to the study of petroleum engineering. With respect to this, Asst. Lect. Mohammed Jamal, the Coordinator of Koya University's Department of Petroleum Engineering, stated that this chapter will be carried out by events like creating posters and holding different seminars at Koya University and other institutions by releasing the most recent oil-related research, this chapter also gives students the essential academic standpoint.
Students' scientific and professional experience is enhanced by these chapters' varied activities, which include webinars, seminars, poster exhibitions, competitions, and member participation in competitions overseas. He emphasized the significance of these chapters and explained how they can help Koya University become even more interconnected worldwide while also increasing our familiarity with the outside world and its interactions with us.
